Quality Statement

Family Type accounts for changes in family composition throughout the year (for example re-partnering, multiple partners, becoming a sole parent) by tracking these changes in benefit claims and the associated personal income of claimants and partners. A Lone Parent family type would typically mean that the parent/guardian has had no partnerships at any point in the year. The latest year statistics are badged as Provisional and are likely to be revised in the next annual Release. Statistics for earlier years may be subject to revision pending methodological improvements and changes to source data.
